Gone Fishin’ (Sketch #073-Black)

Good morning everyone!  I absolutely cannot believe that I am up and awake this early!  Not to mention, I went completely berserk the last 2 days cleaning.  I was never one for “spring cleaning”, more like “fall purging”.  Because I live in a 2-story house, I like to pace myself when it comes to the house chores.  Wouldn’t want to strain and over-exert myself!  I was on such a rampage last night, my wonderful, darling husband even helped me move a couch from upstairs to downstairs.  I know!  I went cuckoo last night!  Thank goodness he’s so wonderful to put up with my wacky and ill-timed antics.

Anyway, enough jabber about those things!  Now it’s onto business!  The latest sketch from Twisted Sketches featured a twist in honor of Halloween, at least, I like to think so.  This twist is pretty easy to incorporate into any layout–BLACK.  How simple is that?  And it’s especially H-O-T when paired with nice bright primary colors!

Gone Fishin’ (Sketch #073-Black)

This is my wonderful and outdoors’kid’, Madi.  This summer, my kids had the opportunity to enjoy something I absolutely LOVE doing, fishing.  She had never been in a boat before and she looked a bit nervous at first.  This is at Lake Skinner and we rented a little john boat for a couple hours and went fishing.  No, we didn’t catch anything, but we had a blast.

I loved using Echo Park’s “Sweet Summertime”.  And paired with the black matting, it really just pops.  I tried a new technique, paint splatter!  I had fun doing it and making a mess.  The little guys that are hanging out on the page are Doodle Factory, “Doodle Creatures” stamps.  I have had these stamps for about 2 years and only used a couple of them for cards and such.  I really loved using them on a page for once.  I may break these guys out more often!  Other products used are:  American Crafts Thickers, Maya Road chipboard tree, Maya Road angel wings stamp, Marvy Uchida LePlume pens, Stickles, and acrylic paints by Making Memories and Adirondack.

Thanks for checking out my latest creation.  The inspiration the Twisted Sisters can give you is limitless.  Come check us out and give your inspiration and creation a “twist”.
