It’s A Trifecta! May Art, Stampendous, and Coredinations Team Up Week!

Hi everyone!  Talk about an awesome week for some inspiration right?!  May Arts is teaming up with Stampendous and Coredinations for a week of straight up awesomeness and a side of fun.  You should have arrived here from Charlene’s blog.  If not, head on back to the May Arts blog and get things started off right.  Of course, you know there’s a giveaway involved so keep reading to find out how to be eligible.  Here is the line up for today!

May Arts:

Today,  I wanted to show you that you can use ribbon, stamping, masking, and even scrapbooking alphas in your art journal.  Not everything has to be so “technical” and artsy.  For me, I am especially challenged when it comes to doodling and lettering so knowing how to use these items in an art journal is a must. (Check out that awesome stenciling!  The Crafter’s Workshop for the win!)

Taaaa-daaaa!  I can’t tell you how many sprays I used, but it was more than a couple.  I really, *really*, loved the Dahlia stamp from Stampendous.  It’s so big and beautiful.  I tried my hand at gradient color stamping using Staz-On (Jet Black, Royal Purple, and Teal).  I need to practice a bit more but for this particular project, it worked out.  A couple little distressed Coredinations punched stasr for my flower center and small embellishing go a long way.

I used some of the mica flakes from Stampendous on the flower center as well as on the page itself.

The chevron twill from May Arts was the perfect accent to set off my title as well as add some visual interest and texture to the page.

And who doesn’t love Thickers?  I absolutely rely on these bad boys (maybe a bit too much) for all of my titles.  I suck at lettering!  Once again, May Arts chevron twill is the perfect backdrop for my not-so-hand-made title.

Thanks for taking a look at my interesting journal page!  Now for the giveaway info.  All you need to do is leave a comment along the way.  Here is the wonderful prize that is up for grabs.  All of this plus 2 spools of ribbon from May Arts!

Since I like to fussy cut I'd probably try to cut different layers of the flower and pop-dot them to make a thicker flower. Your layout is great just the way it is. Very pretty.

Wow… This is amazing. your colors are so neat to start with. but everything you did here adds so much, The background stenciling and stamping. Completely awesome. I love how you added ribbon to the page too. Wonderful job and thanks for the techniques. I will be sure to try them for myself.

Nice! The way you used that chevron twill was pretty cool to add color and pick up the colors you used in and around the Dahlia stamps. I LOVE all their large flower stamps… Adding just a few pieces of mica on an almost uncompressed flower was like adding just the right jewelry to set off an outfit! šŸ™‚ TFS!
