Just Smile-Sketch #079 ‘write’

Today is Wednesday and that means that the latest sketch is up and live at Twisted Sketches.  This week’s twist was “write”.  Funny thing is, I absolutely HATE journaling.  I like the stories.  I like the look.  I like the sentimental value.  I just HATE doing it.  Sooooo instead, I decided to use a stamp–that had writing on  it!  I know!  I’m lazy.  But what can I say??  I hate journaling!  Another “out-of-the-box” element for this sketch was the use of tags.  I’ve made a couple before, but I’ve never really used them.  The three tags on this page I made using some distress inkpads, a stamp by Inkadinkadoo, Ranger archival inkpad, and some glimmer mists.

I decided to use some fun, bright papers and do a “showcase” page of my 2nd daughter, Andrea.  I absolutely love Theresa Collins’ “Freestyle” line for girls.  I loved the grunge appeal and how it’s mixed with the fun oranges and pinks.

Just Smile (Sketch #079-write)

I wanted to keep the page in line with Andrea’s personality.  She’s funky, fun, soft at times, and incredibly smart.  I tried to use a variety of elements and details to highlight these qualities.

Other supplies used are Punchinella, Amercian Crafts Thickers, K & Company die cuts, BamPop frame, flowers and tickets (both unknown), and acrylic paint.

Thank you for taking a look at my latest page.  Why don’t you come visit the Twisted Sisters over at Twisted Sketches and let us give you some inspiration–with a twist.
