Kids of Summer Mini

Good morning everyone!  Several of you may have seen this project when it was up on my blog last year.  I had to take it down because it was being picked up by Northridge Publishing for their Create: Mini Albums (Spring 2012)!  This was my very first time being published and to say it was exciting is putting it mildly.

I used the back pockets from old jeans as the pages, Fancy Pants “Summer’s End” papers, and ribbons and trims from Gauche Alchemy and A Million Memories.

A key thing to remember, use appropriate adhesives!  It’ll save a lot of exasperation!  I also used a lot of fussy cutting to make my own embellishments.  This is a great technique for the babes on a budget!

I edged each page with a different type of trim.  Some of them are lace, pom-poms, or even Punchinella.

Adding a few buttons to a project like this is a perfect, quick, and simple accent.

I don’t usually pom-poms, but in this instance, they worked out beautifully!

The Mixed Media Color Kits are chock full of quick and simple embellishments.  A few more beads from the Lady Marmalade Color Kit and I call it done!

Thanks for taking a look!

This is brilliant, Chrissy! I'm not surprised it was selected for publication. The monotone photos look great against the crazy-colour embellished pockets (I SO love that pocket idea!!).

You did an incredible job on this mini album. I love all the lace & a frills. Makes me want to go home and try one myself. Thank you for inspiring me.
