Rare Beauty

I’m on a roll this morning!  This latest page is one I did for a contest over at A Cherry On Top.  We were “assigned” a sketch based on the first letter of our user names.  The sketches were from Page Maps.  This particular sketch was a bit of a challenge for me.  It seemed really intricate, but once I opened my mind and my eyes, I just interpreted it to my liking and preference.  I did try to stick with the general theme of the sketch.

I used Basic Grey’s “Kioshi” which was went to me by my dear friend Dawn.

The little pink flower spray is actually part of old floral sprays my mom made when I was kid!  I took part of it apart and used it on this page.

Some other products used include American Crafts Thickers, Recollections roses, ColorBox Cat’s Eyes chalks, Micheal’s fern leaves, and trim from A Million Memories.

These photos are something else!  The 2 flowers in the photos are actually rare orchids that are found up near Silver Lake in Utah.  The purple one is called an “Elephant Orchid” and when you look at it up close, it does resemble an elephant head.  These flowers are tiny.  I can’t remember the name of the white orchid, but I think it’s called a “Combine Orchid”.

The middle photo is of a brook that runs through Sundance Resort.  It is natural and not man-made.  I was just amazed at all of the natural beauty in Utah.  It’s amazing to drive up the freeway and see these natural streams and waterfalls.  Gorgeous.

Thanks for stopping by…again!  And head over to A Cherry on Top and check out the fun we have in the gallery and on the boards!  Not to mention, an awesome store too!

So glad I stopped by to see what exactly these flowers are. They did resemeble orchids but I wasn't 100% sure. They're very pretty & you did a great job scrapping them!
