What do PageMaps and ACOT have in common?

Hi everyone!  I hope all of you have been well.  Things here have been the same ol’ routine.  Of course, with the exception of AWESOME news last night of bin Laden’s demise.  Most of you know that we are a military family.  Needless to say, we were beyond ecstatic!

Anyway, I bet you guys are wondering what PageMaps and ACOT have in common this month.  Well, ACOT’s paper CT is featured this month at PageMaps!!  How freaking awesome is that??!!  Not to mention that ACOT’s Paper Team is super talented, fun, and plain ol’ awesome!

Here’s my sample for this month’s feature.  I had to work with a double 12×12 and let me say this, I had NEVER done one before!

PageMaps 12×12 double

These are a group of photos taken from our outing at the Aquarium of the Pacific and lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp in Long Beach.  I had a bit of a hard time putting together a 2-pager because I very rarely keep duplicates of papers.  I decided to use Cosmo Cricket’s “DeLovely” because of the bright and cheerful colors.  I used various embellishments from Bam Pop, Prima, Maya Road, and some awesome frugal finds from WalMart.  I wanted to add some spritz so I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in “Turquoise”.

Here are the individual pages showing some of the details.

Please go take a peek over at Page Maps and check out ALL of the amazing work the ACOT Paper Team did for this month’s feature.

And speaking of this month at ACOT, the challenges are live and available for play!  This month’s Theme challenge, is “Mom” in honor of Mother’s Day on the 8th.

I had ordered a crap-ton of My Mind’s Eye “Stella & Rose” and have been hoarding it!  I decided that I had THE PERFECT photo to use.  I used this wonderful picture of my mom right after she graduated high school.  I thought the kind of retro look these papers had paired up perfectly with this photo.

I accented the photo and paper with a tulle flower from Making Memories, a couple resin buds by Prima, some Webster’s Bloomers, and some wonderfully fun Punchinella.  The fun coral lettering is by Pink Paislee from their “Captivating” line.  Please go to ACOT and check out the other challenged the creative team has cooked up for this month.

And the final bit of news, don’t forget that ACOT is having a “Rock Around the Clock” crop in honor of National Scrapbooking Day!  That’s right!  We start Friday afternoon and are GOING STRAIGHT THROUGH until Sunday evening!!  There will be games, challenges, classes, prizes, and points!  Be sure to drop on by and check it out!
